Student-Powered Climate Comic Launches During Clean Energy Week

Solar Stars vs Dark Matter: The Battle Over Climate Change inspires global citizenship, STEAM learning, and youth action.

This September 17, during Clean Energy Week, students, educators and comic fans will celebrate the launch of Solar Stars vs Dark Matter: The Battle Over Climate Change, Issue #1.

The comic grew out of the Solar Star Challenge and encourages students to take real action through storytelling, design and technology. Using their imaginations, and a little help from AI, students developed superheroes and villains who battle for a sustainable future.

The project was written by Adam Hall, MYP Design Lead at ISDenver, and illustrated by Rex Ander, a former art teacher from Argentina who now works as a professional illustrator in Peru. Working with student ideas at the core, they have created a climate-action comic that combines STEAM learning, global citizenship, and creative problem-solving.
