How we work

Thirty-six years of recycled printing, started in Northport

Where it started

The business began in Northport in 1990. At the time, recycled sheets were hard to source and inconsistent, and most printers would not quote them. Greg switched anyway and spent the following three decades learning which mills could be relied on.

How the work is quoted

Jobs are quoted by phone or email, and calls go to Greg directly. If you need ten copies stapled in the next hour, a copy shop is the right answer and we will tell you so.

Trade show and event work

A large share of the New York work is event print, including jobs for planners working the Javits Center. Event print is deadline print: the date does not move, so the schedule has to be real. Two weeks is typical, with room for genuine last-minute additions.

Delivery

Work ships from our facilities in NY, NJ, FL, CO and the UK, whichever gets it to you fastest and cheapest. For Long Island and the boroughs that is usually the New York or New Jersey side.

I've worked with Greg quite a few times over the last 4 or 5 years. He is very responsive, really cares about his products and service, and is my organization's go-to eco-friendly printer. Greg and his colleagues are great to work with, and source/create fabulous products. Couldn't recommend him more!

Common questions

Questions we get from New York clients

Do you have a location on Long Island?

Not a storefront. Eco Friendly Printer started in Northport and is now run from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Jobs for Long Island and New York City clients are quoted by phone or email and delivered to you. If the paper matters to the job, Greg will talk you through which stock suits it.

Can you hit a Javits Center deadline?

Usually. Trade show print is a large part of the New York work and two weeks is the normal window, with capacity for genuine last-minute additions. Give us the date the piece has to be in the booth and we will work backwards from it.

Will recycled stock hold my brand color?

Some will and some will not. Post-consumer sheets carry a slight natural cast and a heavier texture than a coated virgin sheet, which changes how ink sits. Part of the job here is picking the stock that gets closest to your color, and telling you upfront where the difference will show.

Do you have a minimum order?

Minimums vary by product because they are set by how each item is made. Tell us the quantity you actually want and we will tell you whether it works and what the sensible run length is.
