The recycled stocks we print on
Recycled paper varies from mill to mill. Some 100% post-consumer sheets are well suited to photography, while others have a textured finish that works well for letterpress. Below are the papers we use most, with the recycled content and certifications for each.
The papers we use most
Each paper is made with post-consumer recycled content and is FSC certified.
How we choose a paper
01
Describe your project
Tell us what you are printing and how it will be used. A menu that is handled every day needs a different paper than a book or a business card.
02
Get a recommendation
Weight, finish and recycled content depend on the job. Greg has sourced recycled papers since 1990 and will recommend the best option for your project.
03
Receive a quote
Once the paper is selected, we provide pricing and timing for your order.
Understanding recycled content
Paper specs quote recycled content two different ways, and the difference matters. Where a stock on this page says 100% post-consumer, that is the stricter of the two.
PCW
Post-consumer waste
Paper that reached an end user, was used, and was collected for recycling. This figure shows how much material was kept out of landfills.
TRC
Total recycled content
Includes mill scrap and converting offcuts that never left the factory. This keeps fiber in use, but that material would not have gone to a landfill.
FSC
Chain of custody
FSC certification tracks fiber from forest to press, so the claim on the sheet can be followed back. That is a separate question from how much of the sheet is recycled.
