What it is and what it suits
Mohawk Renewal is made with alternative plant fibers that replace part of the wood pulp in the sheet. The hemp grades contain 30% hemp fiber, and Fiber White adds 30% post-consumer recycled fiber. The miscanthus grade combines 30% miscanthus grass with 70% post-consumer recycled fiber, so it contains no new wood fiber at all.
What we print on Mohawk Renewal
Weights and finishes
Renewal comes in 80 lb text, cover weights from 80 lb to 140 lb, and an 18 pt folding board for packaging. Finishes include hemp rough, hemp smooth and miscanthus rough, and it runs on digital and offset presses.
Is Mohawk Renewal tree-free?
Not completely. The hemp grades still contain wood or recycled fiber alongside the hemp. The miscanthus grade comes closest, with no new wood fiber. Renewal is FSC certified, and Mohawk buys renewable energy certificates to match all of the electricity used in its operations.
