Details

Eco Friendly Printer prints custom NCR forms for contractors, service businesses, restaurants, shops and offices. NCR stands for "no carbon required." Each set has two or more sheets, and writing on the top sheet transfers to the sheets below, so the customer, the office and the field each keep a copy without carbon paper.

Forms we print

  • Invoices and sales receipts
  • Work orders and service tickets
  • Estimates and proposals
  • Delivery tickets
  • Inspection and checklist forms
  • Purchase orders and order forms

Parts and colors

A 2-part form usually has a white top sheet and a canary second sheet. A 3-part form adds a pink sheet, and a 4-part form adds a goldenrod sheet. Each color tells your team which copy goes where, for example white for the customer, canary for the office and pink for the file.

Sizes

The most common sizes are 8.5 x 11 in and 5.5 x 8.5 in, which is a letter sheet cut in half. Ask about smaller receipt sizes and custom sizes.

Binding, numbering and other options

Forms are usually glued into pads or bound into books with a cover. Ask about sequential numbering, which helps you keep track of invoices and tickets, and about perforations and drilled holes for binders. Most NCR forms print in one color, usually black, which keeps the cost down.

How the eco choices apply to NCR forms

Carbonless paper is a coated specialty paper, so the recycled options are more limited than for our usual stocks. Greg will tell you what is available for your job. The most practical way to reduce waste with forms is to print only the number of parts you use. If nobody files the third copy, a 2-part form uses a third less paper.

How ordering works

Send a copy of the form you use now, or a sketch of the fields you need, along with the number of parts, the size and the quantity. You can start your order online. You will talk with Greg directly. He will help lay out the form so it is easy to fill in by hand, and send a proof before anything is printed. For matching office stationery, see letterhead and envelopes, notepads and pocket folders.

Common questions about NCR forms

What does NCR stand for?

NCR stands for "no carbon required." The paper is coated so that the pressure of a pen transfers the writing to the sheets underneath.

What colors are the copies?

A common order is white, canary, pink and goldenrod. Two-part forms use white and canary, and three-part forms add pink.

Can you number my invoices?

Ask about sequential numbering when you request a quote, and tell us the starting number you want.

How many sets come in a pad?

Pads commonly hold 50 sets. Ask about other counts and about bound books with covers.
