Wedding trivia questions for guests and reception tables
Wedding trivia questions about the couple, grouped by topic, with tips for running the game and printing different questions on each guest's place card.

Good wedding trivia questions are about the couple: how they met, the proposal, their favorite things and their everyday habits. Keep each question short with one clear answer, mix easy questions with a few harder ones, and leave out anything that could embarrass the couple or a guest. A simple way to play at the reception is to print two or three questions on each guest's place card, with different questions on every card. With three questions per card, a table of ten has 30 different questions. Below are question ideas grouped by topic, followed by tips for running the game and printing the cards.

How to play wedding trivia at the reception
There are a few common ways to run the game:
- Place cards: print two or three questions on each guest's place card or wine glass coaster, with different questions on each card. Guests read their questions to the table and everyone guesses.
- Table cards: print one set of questions on the card at each table, and have each table answer together.
- Answer sheets: hand out a short quiz with a pen, and announce the table with the most right answers.
Share the answers during the toasts, have the DJ read them, or print them on the back of the table card so guests can check for themselves. Bride and groom trivia also works well at showers and rehearsal dinners.
Giving every guest different questions
To give every guest at a table different questions, write enough questions for your largest table. A table of ten with three questions per card needs 30 questions. Every table can use the same 30, because guests at different tables will not see each other's cards. In your guest list spreadsheet, add a column for each question and fill in a different set for each person at a table.
Tips for writing good questions
- Keep each question short enough to fit on one or two lines of a small card.
- Pick questions with one clear answer, such as a place, a year or a name.
- Mix easy questions that most guests know with a few harder ones.
- Include questions about both partners, so both sides of the family can answer some.
- Leave out exes, inside jokes and anything that could embarrass the couple or a guest.
- Check every answer with the couple before you print.
Printing trivia on wine glass place cards
Eco Friendly Printer prints wine glass place card coasters with each guest's name, table number and trivia questions on the card. Each coaster has a die-cut opening that slips onto the stem of a wine glass, and guests can take it home as a coaster afterward. The cards are printed on absorbent coaster board with soy-based inks. Send your guest list as a spreadsheet with a column for each question. You will talk with Greg directly about the design, the paper and the fit on your glasses, and he will send a proof before anything is printed. The questions can also go on place cards or table cards. Request a quote with your guest count and wedding date.
Common questions
How many trivia questions should each guest get?
Two or three questions per guest fit on a small card and are quick to answer between courses. With three questions per card, a table of ten has 30 different questions.
Can every guest at a table have different questions?
Yes. When the questions are printed from your guest list, each person's card can carry a different set.
When should guests play wedding trivia?
The game works well while guests wait for dinner, and the answers can be shared during the toasts.
What are good bride and groom trivia questions?
Questions with one clear answer work best, such as where the couple met, who proposed, where they are going on their honeymoon and who is the better cook.
