FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. It is an independent certification that tracks fiber from the forest through every company that handles it, a chain of custody, so a certified sheet can be traced back to forests managed to standards covering replanting, biodiversity, water, and the rights of workers and local communities.
The certification follows the paper through the mill, the merchant and the printer. To carry the FSC logo, a printed piece has to be produced by a printer with chain of custody certification, or through a certified partner. Ask which certified stocks suit your job when you request a quote, and we will confirm what can appear on the finished piece. Our guide to what FSC certified means covers the labels in more detail.
