Three reasons come up most often.
The environmental one. Recycled fiber keeps paper out of landfill and takes less energy and water to produce than virgin pulp. Soy inks avoid the volatile organic compounds that come with petroleum-based ink, and they release more cleanly during recycling, so the sheet comes back as better fiber.
The commercial one. Customers, procurement teams and grant committees increasingly ask what your printed materials are made of. An FSC-certified recycled stock is an answer you can put in writing, with documentation behind it.
The practical one. It costs less than most people expect. Recycled stocks are competitive with virgin paper, and we will let you know when a spec adds cost without an environmental benefit.
