Sizes

Package insert cards are commonly 4 x 6 in, 3.5 x 5 in or business card size (3.5 x 2 in), so they fit in the box without folding. Folded thank you cards are most often A2, which folds to 4.25 x 5.5 in and mails in a 4.375 x 5.75 in envelope. A6 (4.5 x 6.25 in) and A7 (5 x 7 in) cards give more room for a photo or a longer note. Paper and finishes

Thank you cards are often written by hand, so we recommend uncoated stocks that take ink from any pen without smudging. Our recycled cover stocks come in white and natural shades, with 30% to 100% post-consumer content depending on the sheet. Recycled kraft suits brands with natural or handmade packaging, and 110 lb cotton gives a soft, heavy card for weddings. Letterpress, foil stamping and blind debossing are available. For insert cards that carry only printed text and a logo, a smooth recycled cover prints type and images cleanly.

How the eco choices apply

For product brands, an insert card printed on recycled paper fits with recycled mailers and paper packaging, and it can go into paper recycling with the rest of the package. Design and file setup tips

Keep the message on an insert card short so customers can read it at a glance. Put the most important line, such as the thank you or the discount code, in the largest type. Set the file to the finished size with 0.125 in of bleed if color runs to the edge, and keep text at least 0.125 in inside the trim. If the card will be written on, leave most of the inside or the back open. Use the same colors and fonts as your packaging so the order feels consistent when it is opened.
