Sizes and formats

Most punch cards are printed at standard business card size, 3.5 x 2 in, so they fit in a wallet. A flat card usually has room for 8 to 12 punches on one side, with your logo and reward details on the other. Choosing the stock

The right stock depends on how the card will be marked. Uncoated recycled card stock takes a stamp or a pen well and does not smudge. For hole punches, a heavier stock such as 16pt or 18pt keeps the card from tearing. Natural kraft card stock gives a handmade look that suits cafes and bakeries. How the eco choices apply to loyalty cards

Paper punch cards are printed on recycled card stock with soy-based inks, and a finished card can go in paper recycling. Compared with plastic loyalty cards, paper cards avoid a material that is rarely recycled. Uncoated stock also avoids plastic laminate. To keep waste low, order a quantity that matches your monthly customer count, and print the reward details in a way that will not change soon, so you do not need to reprint when a price changes.

• Leave enough space around each punch or stamp area.
