Details

Eco Friendly Printer prints custom wine labels and beverage labels for small wineries, breweries, distilleries, cideries, coffee and juice makers, restaurants and event planners. We also print private labels for weddings, corporate gifts and special occasions. Labels are printed on recycled and tree-free facestocks with soy-based inks, and the facestock and adhesive are chosen for the bottle and for where the bottle will be stored.

Bottle labels we print

  • Front and back labels for wine bottles
  • Beer, cider and kombucha bottle and can labels
  • Spirits, coffee, juice and sauce bottle labels
  • Neck labels and vintage strips
  • Private labels for weddings, anniversaries and corporate gifts
  • Restaurant house wine and event labels

Wine label sizes

Wine labels are printed in custom sizes to fit the bottle. A common front label for a standard 750 ml wine bottle is about 3.5 x 4 in or 4 x 4 in, and back labels are often about 3 x 4 in. Bottle shapes vary, so measure the flat area of your bottle, or send us a sample bottle, before you order. Beer and soda bottles usually take a smaller label, and cans take a wraparound label. Labels can be die-cut to any shape. Our sticker and label size guide explains how to measure a container.

Facestocks and adhesives

We print on recycled facestocks and on tree-free facestocks, which are made without wood pulp. Textured and uncoated papers give wine labels a classic look. Bottles that go into an ice bucket or a cooler need a facestock and adhesive that hold up when wet, so tell us how the bottles will be stored and served. For waterproof labels that use no tree pulp, see our guide to stone paper. Labels can be finished with foil stamping or embossing for a premium look.

Required wording

Wine, beer and spirits sold to the public must carry certain required information, such as alcohol content and a government health warning. Requirements depend on the product and where it is sold. We print the text you approve, so confirm the required wording before you send final files. Private labels for gifts and weddings are usually applied over or next to the original label and do not replace it.

How the eco choices apply to bottle labels

Glass bottles are widely recycled, and the label is part of that process. A paper label with the right adhesive washes off more easily during recycling. Recycled and tree-free facestocks with soy-based inks lower the impact of the label itself. Our article on what makes a product label sustainable covers each of these choices.

Design tips

  • Keep the brand or name large and centered on the front label.
  • Put required wording, ingredients and barcodes on the back label.
  • Keep text inside the safe area so nothing is cut off or wraps out of view.
  • For private labels, add a date, a name or a short message that makes the bottle a keepsake.

How ordering works

Send your artwork, the label size, the quantity and a description of the bottle and how it will be stored, or send us a sample bottle. You can start your order online. We will confirm the facestock, the adhesive and a price before anything is printed. Most label orders are ready in one to two weeks from artwork approval. For more label types, see labels and candle labels. For restaurants, see restaurants and hospitality.

Common questions about wine labels

What size is a wine bottle label?

Most front labels for a standard 750 ml wine bottle are about 3.5 x 4 inches or 4 x 4 inches, and back labels are often about 3 x 4 inches. Measure your bottle or send a sample to confirm the size.

Will the labels hold up in an ice bucket?

Yes, with the right facestock and adhesive. Tell us that the bottles will be chilled in ice or water and we will recommend a label that holds up when wet.

Can you print custom labels for wedding wine?

Yes. We print private labels for weddings, anniversaries and corporate gifts. They are usually applied over or next to the original label.

Do you print beer and beverage labels?

Yes. We print labels for beer, cider, kombucha, spirits, coffee, juice and other bottled drinks.
